Mission Blue Butterfly Outfit

Description

At last! I have purchased a proper mannequin for displaying my dresses and outfits!

This outfit was worn at the 40th Pennsic War. The skirt has eight panels of alternating beige and blue with inserted brown cotton panels with blue handkerchief hem. The skirt is not entirely a circle skirt, but has a sizeable bottom circumference and really looks good when in motion.

The shirt is the same heavy blue cotton as featured in the skirt. It is a loose fitting top that cinches just under the bust with elastic. The "half sleeves" also gather with elastic. The shirt has a hand-embroidered scroll work at the collar. It was improvised, so don't fault me for it's... homeliness.

The overbodice features colors found throughout the design and laces in three places for an adjustable fit: the front and the sides (close to the back). Tassels in the back are for decoration and a show-piece for a sexy back.

I'm very proud of this outfit, as it is one of few outfits that perfectly and exactly matched the initial sketch I had drawn out for the Mission Blue Butterfly.
